Mrs. Vaughn, an 87-year-old Trenton resident, died away at 3:51 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Saint Luke’s Northland Hospital in Kansas City.
Mrs. Vaughn was born on April 25, 1931, east of Tindall, the daughter of Gilbert Francis and Lera Ann (Wagner) Fitzpatrick. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1949. She was married in 1950 to Richard Eugene Allnutt, who preceded her in death in 1979.
After raising her children she decided to work and was employed in the Hy-Vee Bakery in 1968 and later worked with Shaffer’s in Chillicothe, where she stocked the lunch room at Modine. She married Merle Vaughn in 1986 and he preceded her in death that same year.
Mrs. Vaughn was baptized in the Trenton First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and later became a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting, crafts and sewing. She was also an avid fisherman, but her favorite thing was to spend time with her grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Rebecca Cochran and her husband, David of Trenton; her son, Randall Allnutt and his wife, Dorothy of Trenton; a brother, Robert Fitzpatrick and his wife, Patricia of Meridian, ID; a sister, Dora Gross and her husband, Jim of Trenton; two grandchildren, Emily Katherine Cochran Archer and her husband, Greg and Richard Gregg Allnutt; two sisters-in-law, Carol Simmons and Bertha Gail Allnutt, both of Trenton; and an uncle, Norman Fitzpatrick and his wife, Loyce of Raymore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands.
Memorial donations are suggested to either Wesley United Methodist Church or the Sunnyview Foundation and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
