Marlena Lea White, a 63-year-old resident of Milan, died on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services for Marlena will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. The body will be cremated and a private inurnment will be held at a later date in the Bairdstown Cemetery.
Mrs. White was born on Aug. 24, 1954 in Columbia, the daughter of Walter and Patricia Wyant Olmstead. She grew up in Milan and graduated from Milan C-2 High School. She lived in several places throughout the years, including New Mexico, California and Nevada. She had worked as a secretary for her father’s insurance company and for United Coin. She has also worked as a paraprofessional at Milan C-2, a seamstress, a cake decorator and was in charge of after school programs at the YMCA. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and angels, traveling, and watching her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s ballgames.
Survivors include her father, Walter Olmstead of Milan; one daughter, Kim Wheeler and her husband, Scott of Milan; one son, Joseph Rogulski and his fiancee, Jeanie Kinney of Green City; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Randall Olmstead and his wife, Laura of Unionville, Stan Olmstead and his wife, Jane of Pattonsburg, Jay Olmstead and his wife, Connie of Trenton and Roger Olmstead and Michelle Miles of Columbia; one sister, Anita Hahn of Raytown; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Olmstead; maternal grandparents, Virgil and Raymah Wyant; paternal grandparents, Walter H. and Venice Olmstead; a niece, Jamie Lamma; and an ex-husband, Larry Pfeiffer.
