Dennis Goldsmith of Harris will be recognized for his 32-plus years of military service as a guest of honor at the 30th annual Columbia “Salute to Veterans” free air show over the Memorial Day weekend at the Columbia airport.
Goldsmith retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a colonel and is a decorated veteran of Operations Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He currently serves as the Sullivan County Emergency Management Director.
Ret. Col. Goldsmith will be recognized at the annual evening banquet on Saturday May 26.
The air show’s mission is to recognize, honor and thank all veterans of the Armed Services of the United States of America, past and present, living and dead, who have served their country.
