Salary increases were approved and personnel items were addressed during a meeting of the Tri-County R-7 Board of Education on Wednesday night at Jamesport.
According to information provided by Superintendent David Probasco, all certified and non-certified salaries were increased by 1 percent for the 2018-19 school year. The base salary for a first-year teacher in the R-7 School District for next year will be $29,470.
Following an executive session, the board offered the middle school/high school principal position to Wade Hall at a salary of $52,000 for the 2018-19 school year. Extra duty contracts for next year were also approved and the board voted an offer of intent to employ the day care staff for the 2018-19 school year.
The board approved a sports cooperative agreement next year with North Daviess for a fall baseball program. Also approved was a fundraising request to raise money for softball equipment.
The board reviewed and approved several MSBA policy updates. An individual was interviewed for a vacant position on the board, but no action was taken.
The board discussed the budget and also heard reports from the superintendent and principal.
The next meeting of the board will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 in the superintendent’s office.
