Members of the Trenton Middle School Band participated in the Macon Middle School Music Festival on Saturday with the seventh and eighth grade band receiving a I (exemplary) rating from all three judges.
Soloists earning a I rating were Mari Atup, flute and alto saxophone; Gabby Barrer, Connor Campbell, Serenity Marsh and Kayleigh Streett, clarinet; Baley Catron, Morgan King, Katie Markell and Gracyn Rongey, flute; Jaica Clark and Lydia Leininger, marimba; Leslie Cotiangco and Jillian Voorhies, alto saxophone; Alondra Fernandez, Ava Simpson and Trent Villacampa, trumpet; Caleb Johnson, tuba; Jesse Ledbetter, baritone horn; Taylor Morton, timpani; and Tucker Otto, snare drum.
Also receiving a I were Mari Atup, Connor Campbell and Serenity Marsh, clarinet trio; Mari Atup and Baley Catron, flute duet; Leslie Cotiangco, Colton Roy and Jonin Villacampa, saxophone trio; and Caleb Johnson and Samuel Jordan, brass duet.
A rating of II (outstanding) went to soloists Maurissa Bonta and Elliana Gaunt, flute; Jodi Hullinger, marimba; Samuel Jordan and Trager Leeper, trumpet; Colton Roy, tenor sax; and Haley Shultz, timpani; the flute duet of Maurissa Bonta and Jadlyn Colston; and the flute trio of  Mari Atup, Baley Catron and Morgan King.
Sonja Wimer and Laurie Bonta provided the accompaniment. Tim Gilham is the instrumental music director.
