Barbara Ann Somerville, an 80-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Wednesday night, April 25, 2018 at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Rev. Ron McPherson officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service.
Mrs. Somerville was born on Dec. 31, 1937 at Trenton, the daughter of Ernest Richard Hamilton and Lillian Mae Kindred-Hamilton. Barbara spent her life caring for and loving others. She was a dedicated mother and wife. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was married on May 20, 1989 in Liberty to Floyd Somerville, who survives of the home.
She is also survived by four daughters, Stacey Peterson and her husband, Josh of Brookfield, Debra Winn and her husband, Bert of Trenton, Phyllis Gott and her husband, Chris of Trenton and Rebecca Meek and her husband, Wayne of Siloam Springs, AR; five sisters, Carolyn Webb of Smithville, Mary Vaughn of Lee’s Summit, Shyla Hamilton of Trenton, Ellen Bowers of Trenton and Bertha Mae Barker of Kirksville; and two brothers, Bill Barker of Independence and Gary Bonta of East Moline, IL; a sister-in-law, Shirley Hamilton of Pattonsburg. She enjoyed all 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ernest Hamilton; and one sister, Margaret Klingensmith.
