The Grundy County Genealogical Society will host a program on Monday, April 30 that features information regarding the efforts of the family of PFC Donald R. Tolson to bring his remains home for burial after being killed during World War II.
The program, open to the public, will be at 5 p.m. in the Hoover Theater, located in the Grundy County-Jewett Norris Library. Teresa Smith and Connie Cross, cousins of PFC Tolson, will give the program.
PFC Tolson was killed in November 1943 during the Battle of Tarawa and his remains were returned home for burial on Dec. 2, 2017.
