Cruise Night Set For April 28

Apr 20, 2018 | Headline News

After a large response for the initial event held last summer, another “Cruise Night” is being planned in Trenton.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 28 at T&L Carquest. Persons will be able to bring their vintage cars for a public viewing at 6 p.m. and while an actual “cruise” is not being planned, organizer Jeremy Soptic said it is hoped that persons who come out for the event will view vehicles, then cruise around town. Last year, several of the vehicles traveled to Crowder State Park and then returned to Trenton.
Soptic said three other “cruise night” events are also being planned, with all beginning at T&L Carquest. They include Friday, June 22 (which is also the night before the Wheels and Wine Car Show), Saturday, Aug. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 6. All will begin at 6 p.m. and Soptic said an organized cruise is planned on those dates.
The public is invited to come out to any of the events, but are asked to park in areas somewhere other than Carquest so that cruise participants will have a place for their vehicles. If it is raining, the cruises will be cancelled.
For more information, persons can go to the group’s Facebook page, “Trenton Cruise Night.
On that same evening, the Hodge Presbyterian Church will be holding its “Hodge Cafe” at the church, where persons will be able to “drive-thru” for a tenderloin.
Persons can call ahead at 359-5394 to place an order, then “drive-thru” from 5 to 7 p.m. for pick-up. The event is eat-what-you-want, pay-what-you-want, with proceeds going to the “Stop Hunger Now” program.
