The oath of office was given to a newly-elected board member and officers were elected when the Grundy County Nursing Home District Board of Directors held its annual meeting on Tuesday at the Sunnyview Nursing Home and Apartments. The annual meeting of Senior City, Inc., was also held.
Anna Ferguson was sworn in as a new member during the meeting. Mrs. Ferguson and incumbent Brigette Bunnell were elected to a three-year position on the board during the April 3 election. Former member Edna Foster was recognized by the board for her service and was presented with a certificate by Board Chairman Jim Cox.
Officers elected by the board for the coming year were Jim Cox, chairman; Mrs. Bunnell, vice chairman; Barbara Cox, secretary/treasurer; and district attorney Tara Walker, assistant secretary/treasurer.
Information was presented regarding Nursing Home Week, which will be held May 14-18. A community ice cream social is scheduled for July 6 with music to be provided by the group Servants of the Most High. The event will be free and open to the public.
Reports were given by Administrator Donita Youtsey and Assistant Administrator Matt Arthaud, who also presented information regarding the residential care facility (apartments).
An executive session was held to approve minutes from the March 20 closed session.
The next board meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15 in the administrator’s office at the nursing home.
