Trenton Junior Varsity Golfers Play In Macon

Apr 17, 2018 | Golf, Sports & Recreation

Trenton sent four junior varsity golfers to the Macon Junior Varsity Golf Tournament on Monday. The team turned in a score of 558 at the tournament, placing the Bulldogs 10th in a 12-team field.
Leading the way for Trenton was Jake McNabb, who carded a 110, good for a tie for 15th place individually. Behind McNabb, Carson Radcliff carded a 142, Patrick Behen shot a 152 and Brycin Loyd rounded out the team total with a 154.
Helias won the event with a team score of 344, easily fending off Centralia’s second-place mark of 416 and third-place Macon’s score of 424.
“It was the JV’s first event of the year due to all the cancellations and reschedules, so they were a little bit nervous, I think,” Trenton Coach Travis Mullenix said. “Jake really played well. He tied for 15th but lost in a scorecard playoff to earn a medal. He should be very proud of his first high school performance. Although we didn’t play as well as I know we can as a team, the boys gained some experience and should be a little more relaxed at our next match.”
