Only a select few athletes have gotten their picture on Trenton High School’s “Wall of Fame” in the school commons. Even fewer have earned three all-state honors.
That is a list that now includes Ainsley Tolson.
Trenton’s junior point guard was named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association’s Class 3 All-State team on Wednesday. It marks the second year in a row Tolson has received the honor. She was also selected first team all-state for softball last fall, making this her third all-state selection overall.
With the honor, Tolson becomes the first girls basketball player to earn all-state status multiple times.
This past season, Tolson averaged 17.5 points per game, 3.9 assists per game and 2.6 steals per game as the Bulldogs reeled off a 26-2 record. She recorded her 1,000th career point in a January win over Milan and is currently the fourth all-time leading scorer in school history with 1,210 points.
For her team this year, Tolson helped THS capture a second-straight Grand River Conference title as well as tournament titles at Gallatin, Lawson and Hamilton.
