Helen R. McKay, an 89-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 28, 2018 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Trenton with Rev. Ron Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in the Humphreys Cemetery.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 o’clock tonight (Friday, March 2, 2018) at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mrs. McKay was born on Aug. 16, 1928 in Sullivan County, the daughter of Leander and Florence Schultz Glidewell. She graduated from Humphreys High School.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
She was married on June 7, 1946 to Clarence Glen McKay, who preceded her in death in June 1990.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Blackburn and her husband, David of Riverside; two grandchildren, Angelique Durk and her husband, Mark and Trent Blackburn and his wife, Cari; five great-grandchildren, McKayla, Sydney and Josie Blackburn and Bentley and Kinsley Durk; one sister, Lois Callahan of Trenton; and two brothers, Dean Glidewell and his wife, Mary of Jefferson City and Ron Glidewell of Gallatin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Noel Glidewell; and one son, Martin McKay on Feb. 14, 2017.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church and may be left at the funeral home.
