Gary Wayne Herrin, a 71-year-old resident of Gladstone, died on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at his home.
Memorial services will be at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Victory Free Will Baptist Church. Inurnment will be at a later date in Knob Noster.
Mr. Herrin was born Dec. 23, 1946 in Kansas City, the son of Wayne and Edna Herrin. He graduated from Trenton High School. He joined the US. Army in 1965 and did a tour in Germany. He worked for Cummins Mid America for 31 years as a diesel mechanic and foreman. He was a member of VFWBC and a member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church.
Mr. Herrin enjoyed woodworking in his garage.
Survivors include his wife, Fran Herrin; two brothers, Ron (Jean) Herrin and Terry (PJ) Herrin; a son, Greg Bayless; a daughter, Heidi (Alex) Byers; three grandchildren, Joshua Bayless, Alexandria Byers and Ivy Byers; a great-grandchild, Quin Bayless; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Billye Bayless.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
Services are under the direction of White Chapel Funeral Home at Gladstone.
