Stolen Ambulance Recovered; Suspect Arrested

The Trenton Police Department is investigating the theft of a Grundy County Ambulance.
Police Chief Tommy Wright said that the ambulance was stolen at about 12:30 p.m. today (Tuesday) while parked at Wright Memorial Hospital. Based on the investigation and eyewitnesses, the ambulance was stolen by a male subject from Trenton, who had been seeking medical treatment at the hospital. The male subject exited the emergency room, entered the ambulance and then drove the vehicle away.
The ambulance was later recovered by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office in a remote area in the southeastern portion of Grundy County. The subject was located in the area of the ambulance and taken into custody without incident. The suspect is being held on a 24-hour hold in the Grundy County Jail and charges are being sought. The suspect will be identified after charges are filed.
