When Cameron hit its first three-pointer early in Tuesday night’s game with the Trenton Bulldogs, it didn’t hurt too much. After their second and third three, it became a little annoying. After eight three-pointers in the first half alone, Trenton came to the realization that the Dragons were having one of those nights.
One of those nights for Cameron resulted in a long night for Trenton. The Bulldogs struggled to keep pace with a Cameron team that shot as well as it has all season, falling 79-53 on the road.
For Trenton, Lathan Croy gamely tried to trade blows with the Dragons on his own, but even with four triples in the first half, he was only at half of what the Cameron onslaught was. The Bulldogs trailed 36-23 at the break with Croy representing 16 of Trenton’s 23 points.
When it was all said and done, Croy had hit six triples, scored 29 points and pulled down eight rebounds. The effort was stellar, but not nearly enough on this night.
“I think we executed poorly on defense,” Trenton Head Coach Jeremy Austin said. “Our offense wasn’t great, but the big story was no defense which turned into no transition.
“It was another great game for Lathan, though. He has established himself as one of the premier scorers in our area and I am very proud of him.”
Behind Croy, Hunter Dugan had 10 points and two assists and Max McNabb had five points, six rebounds and two blocked shots. Isaac Harris had four points, Dylan Harris had three points and two assists and Kade Ockenfels rounded out the Trenton total with two points and two assists.
With the loss, Trenton fell to 13-11 overall on the season.
