“I’m very happy for Jerry,” North Central head baseball Coach Donnie Hillerman said. “He has been a great resource to me and a loyal supporter of the program during my time at NCMC. Over the years I’ve come to understand just how significant Jerry’s contributions have been to the college. Going back decades to the late 60’s, through the 70’s and into the 80’s, he has given a lot of himself to TJC (Trenton Junior College) and now NCMC. To my understanding, he was a bus driver, athletic trainer, plus a basketball and baseball coach, all the while doing it in a volunteer capacity, I am personally grateful for what he has done for our program and I think his induction is long overdue.”
Lafferty continues to donate his time to the program, helping with various camps and clinics put on by the North Central program. Lafferty joined Royals’ Senior Advisor to the General Manager Mike Arbuckle in addressing the crowd at the Winter Warm-Up dinner. The two were also speakers at a coaches clinic held by the program earlier in the day.

Easton Klaver, seated with his father, Dr. Lenny Klaver, left, and NCMC men’s golf Coach Craig Sager, right, has signed a national letter of intent to join the Concordia University golf program this fall.
Klaver becomes the first player in the NCMC golf program’s short history to sign with a four-year school. Concordia University is located in Seward, NE.
“I wish (Klaver) the best at the next level,” North Central men’s golf Coach Craig Sager said. “Concordia is a program that offers outstanding facilities and he’ll benefit from a more structured practice routine. The (Great Plains Athletics Conference) is a very competitive conference. He’s got the tools to be successful, I’m confident he’ll figure it out quickly.”
Klaver will be coached by Brett Muller, who enters his seventh season as the coach of the Concordia program.
“I am extremely excited to have Easton join the Concordia family in the fall,” Muller said. “He will be a great addition to our campus as he continues to pursue his degree in Business Administration. His collegiate playing experience will benefit the program immensely.”
Klaver will enroll at Concordia in the fall.
