In a home loss to a region rival last week, the North Central Missouri College men’s basketball team lacked some balance in its scoring. Saturday, on the road in Harrison, AR, balance wasn’t an issue for the Pirates.
NCMC had one player with 20, two others with 19 and a trio with eight in a 93-89 victory over North Arkansas.
Ryan Ward led the offensive attack, scoring 20 points to go with five assists and three steals. Jalen Gant and Jordan Reece each added 19 points with Gant pulling down 16 rebounds and blocking three shots and Reece dishing out three assists and swiping two steals. Cody Glenn, MJ Johnson and Yacento Scott Jr. all added eight to the Pirates’ effort. Johnson had six rebounds, Scott added four assists and Glenn had two assists.
With the victory, the Pirates improved to 11-8 overall on the season. The North Central men will host the Ottawa University junior varsity on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and travel to St. Louis for a Region 16 game on Saturday, tipping off at 3 p.m.

North Central Women 56
In the NJCAA Division II rankings, North Central and North Arkansas are pretty close together – ranked 12th and 13th respectively. On the court there is a little more space between the two teams.
The North Central women were on the wrong end of an 83-56 blowout on Saturday in Harrison, AR.
The Pirates had just two players in double figures as Sarah Lamp led the way with 14 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and two assists and Maddison Book added 10 points. Kendey Eaton finished with nine points and two assists.
With the loss, North Central fell to 16-5 overall on the season. The North Central women will play host to the Graceland University junior varsity on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and the Pirates will travel to St. Louis on Saturday for a region game beginning at 1 p.m.
