First Day Hikes At Crowder Park

Three hikes are planned at Crowder State Park on Monday, Jan. 1 to kick off the new year.
Two hikes will be held at 10 a.m. on the Tall Oaks Trail and the south loop of the Thompson River Trail. Hikers can choose either the 3.2 mile or one-half mile portion of the Tall Oaks Trail, which is listed as a moderate hike, while the south loop of the Thompson Trail is seven miles and listed as strenuous. Persons are to meet at the Shelter 3 parking lot to begin the hike.
The third hike will be at 1 p.m. along the north loop of the Thompson River Tail. Hikers can choose from either a 3.8-mile or 2-mile trail, which have been listed as moderate. Participants should meet at the equestrian parking lot, located on Dove Lane, just off NW 52nd Avenue.
Hikers are encouraged to wear sturdy footwear and bring water and snacks. Pets can be brought along on the hike, but mush be on a leash.
