The Gilman City High School basketball teams picked up a home sweep of Union Star Tuesday night, winning the girls’ game 37-23 and the boys’ game 57-23.
In the girls’ contest, Gilman City got 18 points, six rebounds and three steals from Megan Cottrell. Brooklyn McCrary added seven points and eight rebounds. Bailey Williamson and Michelle Sutton pulled down 13 and nine rebounds respectively in the victory.
Gilman’s boys, meanwhile, were led by Mitchell Sievering, who had 21 points, eight steals and seven assists. Cornelius Peery added 16 points, five assists and three steals and Kaleb Bjornlie had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Gilman’s teams will be back in action on Thursday, playing host to Stewartsville.
