Friday night saw NCMC play host to Graceland University and take a 90-65 win. Saturday’s effort pitted the Pirates against Park University, coming out on top 76-55.
There was little doubt about the outcome in Friday night’s contest, although the visiting Yellowjackets kept the game close in the first few minutes of the contest. Halftime found NCMC up 40-24. The Pirates outscored Graceland by 10 in the second half to take the victory.
NCMC had three players in double figures, led by Jalen Gant with 15 points. He also had 16 rebounds on the night. Jake Salisbury collected 13 points for the Pirates while Jason Feliz finished the night with 10 points. Jordan Leonard and Cody Glenn both scored 9 points in the contest.
Saturday’s game was a bit closer against Park, with NCMC clinging to just a four-point lead at intermission, 31-27. It was all Pirates in the second half as the team put up 45 points and coasted to the 21-point victory.
Ryan Ward led NCMC scorers with 21 points. Ethan Hughes put up 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Feliz scored 10 points and hauled down 10 rebounds.
NCMC is now 7-4 on the year and will host Johnson County Community College Wednesday night at 7:30 at the Ketcham Community Center in Trenton.
