Danny Busick of Newtown has announced plans to seek election to the Missouri State House of Representatives
Busick will be seeking the Republican nomination to the District 3 position currently held by Rep. Nate Walker, who has announced his intentions to run for Missouri Senate District 18. House District 3 is comprised of all of Mercer, , and Sullivan counties as well as the west side of Adair County.
Busick and his wife, Sandy, have been married 37 years and raised five sons and three daughters and as well as serving as foster parents to two foster children. He has operated his father’s 61-year-old TV-antenna-satellite business Jim’s Radio & TV, for the past 25 years in Newtown. He has served as Sullivan County Associate Commissioner for the past 13 years.
“As a lifelong resident of North Central Missouri I’ve witnessed the constant and continual weakening of the rural economy,” Busick said. “Small towns everywhere are disappearing and no one in government seems to be making any effort to curb this trend. The best chance we have to change that in District 3 is the construction of the East Locust Creek Reservoir. Representative Walker has been a strong supporter of the project and I will continue his efforts to help make this lake a reality.”
“I also seek to lighten the burden of regulation on rural businesses,” Busick continued. “We need to make every effort to give rural business the chance to compete with businesses in bigger communities. Restoring rural America will be of great importance to me.”
Busick added that he “will stand firm with small schools, small farms, small communities and county government. I am a conservative Republican who is upset with national politicians who run as conservatives and govern as liberals. We must elect conservative individuals who will stand for small government and individual freedoms.”
