Those who travel across the Coon Creek Bridge on Northwest 15th Street will be glad to know that work is under way on a new bridge. Six beams, including this one, have been brought in, with each beam weighing 22,000 pounds. Once the beams have been set in place, it is expected that another three to four weeks of work will be needed until the 110-foot bridge is complete and ready for traffic. Grundy County Presiding Commissioner Rick Hull said the county road and bridge crew is building the span at an estimated cost of $200,000.
