A total of 130 students, advisors and guests from seven Missouri community colleges and universities participated in the conference. The NCMC group had the opportunity to travel to Smithfield Hog Production of Missouri in Princeton for an agriculture industry meeting and dinner.
Students attending the conference were Andrew Brimson of Taylor, Nicholas Caraway of Kirksville, Breanna Chambers of Spickard, Mariah Fox of Laredo, Katelyn Galloway of Brookfield, Shambree Hagan of Princeton, Colton Hargrave of Chillicothe, Alex Neal of Boonville, Ariel Propes of Kearney, Jamee Scearce of Stewartsville, Kamron Stephenson of Milan, and Chandra Woodring of Jamesport.
Miss Scearce was elected as the 2017-18 state PAS reporter.
NCMC students who qualify for national competition have the opportunity to compete at the National PAS Conference in Louisville, KY next March. Those individuals, along with their competition area, include:
Career Planning – 1. Ariel Propes (Ruminant Animal Systems); 2. Mariah Fox (Agricultural Education Systems); 3. Shambree Hagan (Retail Agribusiness Systems), Kamron Stephenson (Ruminant Animal Systems) and Breanna Chambers (Non-Ruminant Animal Systems); 4. Andrew Bimson (Non-Ruminant Animal Systems).
Career Progress – 1. Katelyn Galloway (Agricultural Education Systems); 2. Colton Hargrave (Plant Systems); 2. Alex Neal (Retail Agribusiness Systems).
Employment Interview – 1. Mariah Fox (Agriculture Education), Shambree Hagan (Agribusiness Sales), Kamron Stephens (Crop Production) and Ariel Propes (Livestock Production; 2. Jamee Scearce (Agribusiness Administration) and Chanda Woodring (Floriculture).
