The North Central Missouri College Lady Pirates crushed the Central Methodist University junior varsity on Friday night at home in the Ketcham Community Center, 98-62.
A 23-13 run in the opening quarter was just the beginning for the Lady Pirates, who disposed of the CMU JV fairly easily. NCMC would outscore the visitors in all four quarters, doing so by double digits in three of the four frames.
Whitley Richman led six Lady Pirates who were in double figures, scoring 17 points to go with eight rebounds. Hailey Burrows added 11 points and Nicole Kost, Ashtin Williams, Maddison Book, and Kendey Eaton all had 10 points each with Kost adding five steals. Lindsay Wyatt finished with nine points and Sarah Lamp had eight.
“It was a tough game to get into a flow,” North Central women’s head coach Jenni Croy said. “That being said, we were able to get good minutes from everyone. We shot the ball well also.”
NCMC moved to 3-2 on the season with the win. The Lady Pirates will be on the road on Tuesday, playing the St. Mary University’s junior varsity in Leavenworth, KS at 7 p.m.
