Grundy R-5 Veterans Day Program

Among the Veterans Day celebrations on Friday was an event at Grundy R-5 Elementary School in Humphreys. Students in grades preschool through 12, along with members of the public, attended the program, which included retirement of the old U.S. flag in the gymnasium and replacement with a flag donated by Doretta Carmack in memory of her husband, the late Roy Lee Carmack. The Carmacks are parents of R-5 sixth grade teacher Leetta Fordyce. Her sister, Lynda Berry, was also in attendance. State Rep. Nate Walker was the guest speaker and several student presentations were given.
