Clean-up efforts of debris left following a fire last May at the Lakeview Inn have been completed and it will now be up to the Trenton City Council’s Building and Nuisance Board what the next step will be. According to Code Enforcement Officer Donnie Vandevender, tunnels that run under the property on which the hotel was built will require that an engineer certify the foundation before any construction could take place on it. Until the board gives its approval, the structure will remain on the city’s nusiance list. At its meetine earlier this month, the board held a public hearing on the property and moved it to “findings of fact,” which is the next step in the nusiance certification process.
