NCMDA Executive Director Gives Rotary Program
Mrs. Landes began her duties earlier this year, taking the position after having served as the Main Street Director for the city of Chillicothe. She was also a former community developer for the city of Jamesport. Her focus for downtown Chillicothe was in the areas of promotion, historic preservation and economic vitality. She summarized many of her accomplishments while in Chillicothe including implementing way finding signage, the mural program, renovation of downtown buildings resulting in new business attraction and job creation and being recognize by the state and federal Main Street programs for her development efforts.
Mrs. Landes said she is very happy to be the director for the newly-formed, public/private organization, NCMDA. During her first month of employment with the organization she has been busy setting up her office, getting to know leaders in the community and identifying, along with her board of directors, the priorities of the organization. She went on to say that NCMDA considers the community and economic development efforts for the county to be a team/community effort and she looks forward to listening to identify needs and issues and responding accordingly noting that business retention is the priority for the organization. She thanked the city of Trenton, Grundy County and the other investor partners who made NCMDA a reality and is eager to apply her skills and knowledge to address the many community and economic needs of the city and county.
Mrs. Landes and her husband, Aaron, and their child live on the Daviess/Grundy County line and are involved in agriculture production.
Next week’s program chairman is Allan Seidel.
