
The Trenton DAWGS traveled to Jefferson City over the weekend for the Special Olympics State Outdoor Games along with 1,100 other athletes from across the state. Competitions were held in softball, flag football, bocce, golf and tennis. The DAWGS received gold medals in softball for the sixth consecutive year. All the DAWGS received either gold or silver medals in the bocce competition, where over 200 athletes participated. The DAWGS had a tough fight in flag football, coming in fourth after a hard-fought game. The teams are coached by Jim and Judy Rash and Katie Peters.
