Fred Brewer, an 81-year-old resident of Spickard, died on Tuesday evening, Oct. 17, 2017 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 at the Slater Funeral Home on Trenton with Pastor Doug Crawford officiating. Burial will be at Martin Cemetery, north of Trenton.
Family visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Brewer was born on Aug. 1, 1936 in Spickard, the son of Charles Frederick and Frances Pauline Bosley Brewer Sr. He graduated from Spickard High School and attended Trenton Junior College. He farmed all his life on a centennial farm.
He was a member of the Spickard Methodist Church.
He was married in Spickard on June 12, 1956 to Janet Speck, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by three sons, Kevin Brewer and his wife, Lisa of Spickard, Kurtis Brewer of Milan and Kenneth Brewer and his wife, Kathi of Spickard: one sister, Mary Ellen Cooper of Trenton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Gloria Connell; two brothers-in-law, Don Connell and John Speck; and one niece, Lisa Tunnell.
Memorials are suggested to either Martin Cemetery or Spickard Masonic Cemetery and they may be left at funeral home.
