Grundy Splits With Novinger

The Grundy R-5 High School softball and baseball teams traveled to Novinger on Tuesday for a doubleheader. Grundy took the softball game16-6, but dropped the baseball contest 17-5.
In the softball game, Emily Otto led the Panthers with three RBIs and Gabby Nielson drove in two runs. Zoe Littleton was the winning pitcher for Grundy.
In the baseball game, Jonathon Stimpson was three-for-three with a double and two RBIs and Wayne Baxter went one-for-one with two walks and an RBI. On the hill, Stimpson threw one and one-third innings, allowing 14 runs, 13 earned on nine hits and six walks while striking out four. Carter Searcy threw two-thirds of an inning, allowing three runs, all earned on five hits and a walk and Ryan Metcalf rounded out the Panther pitching, throwing two innings and allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one.
Both Grundy R-5 teams will be at home on Monday, playing host to Meadville.
