A fire late Saturday afternoon burned a large bale of hay in southern Mercer County.
The Spickard Fire Protection District was called to a pasture along Karma Lane, 10 miles northwest of Spickard, to extinguish the fire. The fire was attributed to a lightning strike. Firefighters were on the scene briefly.
