Donald W. “Donnie” Bell, an 82-year-old resident of Osceola and formerly of Melbourne, died on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 in the Mitchell Cemetery at Melbourne, under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home of Jamesport. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bell was born on Feb. 8, 1935 in Winterset, IA, the son of Robert J. and Frances I. Pennick Bell.
He was married on Dec. 24, 1955 in Jamesport to Judith Ratliff, who survives of the home. He was a member of the class of 1952 at Lebanon High School, Lebanon, MO. He was baptized at an early age in the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and country music, especially Marty Robbins. A favorite pastime was tinkering in his garage.
He is also survived by two daughters, Tammy (Mike) Whitt of Osceola and Jackie (Mike) Emerson of Pattonsburg; two sons, Robert (Wanda) Bell of Abilene, KS and Gary (Toni) Bell of Butler; two brothers, Doyle (Thadine) Bell of Lebanon and Howard (Mary) Turner of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Terry and Perry Bell; two brothers, Robert and Harold Bell; two sisters-in-law, Georgia and Dorothy Bell; and one great-grandson.
Memorials are suggested to the Mitchell Cemetery in care of Roberson Funeral Home, 503 S. Broadway, Jamesport, MO 64648.
