Man Grows Large Sweet Potato

Although gardening season is coming to a close for the summer, Trenton resident Bill Freeman continues to put out a steady crop, including this seven-pound sweet potato he grew in his home garden. He said the potato was one of the last vegetables left in his garden, which this year included melons, corn, tomatoes, squash, etc. He credits a dumping of good top soil at the end of last season in helping to have one of his best gardens in a long time. He and his wife keep some of their crop, but give most of it away to friends and neighbors.
