Greg Freeman, broker with Century 21-Smith and Associates, was the guest speaker at Thursday’s meeting of the Trenton Rotary Club. Don Purkapile was the program chairman.
Freeman talked about the use of drones in helping to sell farms and large acreages. He said the technology allows realtors to record areas they might not normally be able to photograph, then put the recordings on websites such as YouTube and the many websites Century 21 uses to advertise its properties. He gave a demonstration of the drone used by his company, showing how it can move up and down as well as back and forward.
Freeman also talked about other ways in which his company promotes its properties, including the use of newspapers, radio and flyers. He also talked about changes in real estate over the past 20 to 30 years, including the need for more paperwork due to regulations as well as how loans are processed and the types of loans available. He said locally it has been a good year for real estate sales and that inventory is actually down. He said there have been many first-time buyers entering the ownership market.
During the business meeting, final plans were made for Saturday’s fish fry, which will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rock Barn. In addition to the all-you-can-eat meal, there will be live music and a silent auction. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
Next week’s program chairman is Dr. Lenny Klaver, with the program topic being North Central Missouri College’s campus and community initiative.
