Pleasant View Board Approves Trip, Gives Enrollment Update

The Pleasant View R-6 Board of Education met Tuesday evening, approving a field trip, getting an update on enrollment and hiring a bus aide.
According to information provided by the board, approval was given for students in grades three through six to attend the Living History Festival in Lathrop on Oct. 13. Also approved was the Model Compliance Plan for Special Education, as well as several items that were declared as surplus property.
Superintendent Rebecca Steinhoff gave an attendance update, noting enrollment for grades kindergarten through eighth grade is 94, which is an increase of 14 over last year. Mrs. Lake’s preschool has 20 students, an increase of six students, and the Early Childhood Special Education preschool has 30 students, a decrease of eight students. Following a closed session, the board voted to hire Tammy Paulus of Trenton as the ECSE bus aide.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10.
