The Trenton Middle School softball team opened its season on Thursday night with a 14-4 loss to South Harrison at home on Johnson Field. Above, Kammi Phillips drives a double during the loss. Phillips was one-for-three at the plate with the double. Megan Spencer was two-for-three with a run scored in the loss and Delaney Franklin finished two-for-three at the plate as well. Andrea Selby was one-for-three with a double and Gracyn Rongey went one-for-three also, with a run scored. The loss established an 0-1 start to the season for Trenton. The B game, played after the A game, ended in a 3-3 tie between the two schools. Next up for the Trenton Middle School squads is a road trip to Milan on Thursday, Sept. 7.
