As part of this weekend’s Trenton High School alumni activities, THS graduate and tennis player Randall Hutchinson is promoting an effort to provide resources for anyone interested in pursuing tennis as a sport and/or hobby.
“Tennis Anyone? Tennis Everyone!” is a program to build, supply and maintain a tennis equipment shed for public courts by local volunteers. This would include having a building to store equipment that would be donated for use by players. Local volunteers would staff the shed and assist with repairs to and replacement of equipment.
The first facility, referred to by Hutchinson as “SHED One,” will be introduced, tested and hosted at the THS Courts on Saturday at 10 1.m. in conjunction with the free tennis lessons being offered by Hutchinson (and begin at 9 a.m.). The local project is being dedicated to Carl Carpenter and Mike Bosley, former THS tennis coaches and long-time supporters of the local tennis program.
Persons interested in the project are invited to Saturday’s ceremony or can contact Hutchinson at [email protected] for more information.
