The 2017 Grundy County Delinquent Tax Sale was held Monday morning at the courthouse, bringing in $2,984.35 on the sale of nine of the 130 properties offered. Grundy County Collector-Treasurer Barb Harris said one property was sold in Trenton Township for $1,999.78, the highest bid of the day on any property, while one property was sold in Liberty Township and the remainder being properties at Leisure Lake. Two properties were sold for $61.46, which was the lowest bid accepted during the sale. Properties that did not sell on their third sale will now be listed along with others from previous years on a list for sale in Mrs. Harris’ office, located on the second floor of the courthouse. Those properties can be purchased for a minimum price of $75 plus a recording fee. Above, a potential bidder confers with Jackie Carley, Leisure Lake board secretary, about properties.
