Jesse L. Whitwell Jr., a 68-year-old resident of Spickard, died on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 17, 2017 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
No services are planned at this time. The body was cremated under the direction of Slater Funeral Home of Trenton.
Mr. Whitwell was born on June 9, 1949 in Columbia, SC, the son of Jesse L. Sr. and Ailene Leon Turner Whitwell. He moved to Spickard in 1980.
He enjoyed going to auctions, gun shows and spending time with family and friends.
He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, northwest of Trenton.
He was married on Aug. 28, 1966 in Gladstone to Francey Welch, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by two daughters, Connie Wright and her husband Jeff of Altoona, IA and Lori Gormley and her husband, Bob of Milan; one son, Bradley Whitwell and his wife, Angel of Hubert, NC: 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Danny Whitwell; one son; and one grandson.
