Neil Peery had the oldest tractor entered in the NCM Fair Parade, a 1933 F20 Farmall.

Trenton resident Sadie Roy was crowned the 2017 North Central Missouri Fair Queen during coronation ceremonies on Tuesday night.
Miss Roy, a 2016 graduate of Trenton High School, will represent the fair at the 2018 Missouri State Fair Queen competition at Sedalia next year. She was crowned as the local queen by 2016 NCM Fair Queen Claire Stuedel.
As the 2017 fair queen, Miss Roy will reign over the remaining week’s activities. For being named the winner, she received a $300 scholarship (she attends Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau), a tiara, a sash and flower bouquet and will have her entry paid to compete in the 2018 Missouri State Fair Queen Pageant.
Miss Stuedel, meanwhile, will be representing the NCM Fair at the State Fair Queen competition later this month.
There were over 90 entries in Tuesday night’s fair parade. “Country Nights and Carnival Lights” was the theme of this year’s parade. Trophy winners included:
John Urich, oldest motor car or truck driven in the parade, a 1931 Ford Model A Pickup.
Sunnyview Nursing Home, oldest man and woman riding in the parade, Clara Meeker at 101 and Dr. Richard Owings at 94.
Neil Peery, oldest farm tractor, 1933 F20 Farmall.
Harry Klinginsmith, best restored motor vehicle, 1937 Chevy Pickup.
North Missouri Livestock Auction, best matched team of horses.
North Missouri Saddle Club, club with the largest number of horses in the parade and best dressed saddle club in club colors.
Lexi Gott, best dressed horse and rider, female.
Aiden Paulus, best dressed horse and rider, male.
Today’s schedule included the swine show this morning as well as a barbecue chicken contest for area 4-H youth. Tonight’s grandstand event is the Super Teen Farmer competition, which gets under way at 7 o’clock. Admission is a cash donation or a donation of non-perishable items for the community food pantry.
The rabbit, poultry and dairy judging will take place on Thursday along with the Tuff Truck event at the grandstand on Thursday night.
