The first day of school is coming up quickly and immunization appointments are still available at the Grundy County Health Department.
School immunization requirements affect three age groups, including tudents entering kindergarten, who must have a booster series; students entering eighth grade, who need a TDaP (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) booster and a meningococcal vaccination; and students entering 12th grade, who are required to have a meningococcal vaccination.
Persons can call the health department at 359-4196 to make an immunization appointment for their child prior to the start of classes.
