The Trenton R-9 Board of Education will hold its annual tax levy public hearing at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the district office. The hearing will be prior to the regular monthly board meeting, which is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
The district is proposing a levy of $4.1016 on the $100 assessed valuation for the 2017-18 year. This is 11 cents less than the levy from a year ago as the district’s assessed valuation has increased during the past year by just over $5.7 million. The assessed valuation for this year is $80,787,125 as compared to $75,018,210 a year ago. The assessed valuation includes $386,229 in new construction improvements.
Broken down, the levy will include $3.2016 for the incidental fund and 90 cents for debt service.
