Iola M. Persell, an 82-year-old resident of St. Joseph, died on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at a niece’s residence at Warsaw.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Shelburne Cemetery, southwest of Trenton.
The body is at the Slater Funeral Home, Trenton where open visitation is under way.
Ms. Persell was born on April 22, 1935 at Lock Springs, the daughter of Walter and Arby Shriver Stubbs.
Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Ruhnke of St. Joseph; one son, Larry Jewell of St. Joseph; four grandchildren, Ashley Vannaman, Ryan Ruhnke, Tyson Jewell and Randy Jewell; five great-grandchildren, Destinee Lopez, Mikael Santoyo, Bradon Ruhnke, Cameron Jewell and Zaden Jewell; two sisters, Donna Noah of Warsaw and Emma Bankson and her husband, Louis of Trenton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Ellis Stubbs, Dallas Stubbs, Melvile Stubbs, Clifford Stubbs, Don Stubbs, Billy Stubbs and Larry Stubbs; one niece, Larilee Stubbs,; and one nephew, Scotty Stubbs.
Memorials are suggested to the Shelburne Cemetery, Benton County Hospice of Warsaw or Hospice Partners of St. Joseph and they may be left at the funeral home.
