Events are under way at the Mercer County Fair at Princeton.
A talent show was held on Tuesday night. Colter Hamilton won the age 6 and under category and also received the judge’s choice award. Riley Neill, the 13-and-over winner was named the best overall. The winner in the age 7 to 12 category was Savannah Orndorff, with Aspen Massey and Lexxus Blakey placing second and Alexandria Hopper taking third place. In the 13-and-over division, Kierra Shelby was second and Sheyenne Downing placed third.
Crowned the fair royalty were Eddie Neill, king; Riley Neill, queen; and Emily Oswalt, princess. There was no prince named this year.
The rabbit and poultry show were held on Wednesday.
Winners in the rabbit show included:
Class 4 – Sadie Butterfield of Bethany, Best in Show; Anna Hines of Hale, Reserve Best in Show.
Class 6 – Anna Hines, Best in Show; Dalanie Auffert of Parnell, Reserve Best in Show.
Overall – Sadie Butterfield, Best in Show; Dalanie Auffert, Reserve Best in Show.
Showmanship – Brylee Bowles of Bethany, senior; Dalanie Auffert, junior.
Winners in the poultry show were:
Large Fowl – Gerrett McCrary of Bethany, Best in Show; Corbin Powell of Maryville, Reserve Best in Show.
Bantams – Hannah Bruse of Princeton, Best and Reserve Best in Show.
Overall – Hannah Bruse, Best in Show; Gerrett McCrary of Bethany, Reserve Best in Show.
Showmanship – Sierra Bruse of Princeton, senior; Hannah Bruse, junior.
A hog show is scheduled for tonight at 5 o’clock along with the carnival from 6 to 10 o’clock.
Friday’s activities include the sheep show at 4 p.m., with the goat show to follow. The mini super farmer competition for teams age 6 to 12 is at 6 p.m., followed by the super farmer event for teams age 13 and over.
