Three members of the Trenton FFA Chapter attended the sixth annual HYMAX Academy from June 16-17 at Camp Rising Sun, located at the Lake of the Ozarks. Karli Crawford, Mackenzie McAtee and Dolan Huber (left to right) took part in the leadership camp, sponsored by the Missouri FFA Association. The institute provided extensive leadership and advocacy training for the top 100 incoming sophomores in FFA chapters across Missouri. The high school students were selected out of many applicants to attend this specialized academy. Academy members received training from current and past state FFA officers as well as agricultural educators, FFA state staff and other individuals involved in agriculture. Students learned how to overcome obstacles in their Supervised Agricultural Experience programs and developed their communication and agricultural advocacy skills.
