George E. Larkins, a 78-year-old resident of Jamesport, died on Monday, morning, July 3, 2017 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Pastor Tony Denny officiating. Burial will be in Jamesport Masonic Cemetery at Jamesport.
Open visitation is under way at the funeral home.
Mr. Larkins was born on Feb. 22, 1939 in Fort Morgan, CO, the son of Reginald Lawson and Vera Vivian Metz Hoyt. He was graduated from Carrollton High School. He was a retired carpenter.
He was married on July 19, 1968 in Carrollton to Esta Jane Fuller, who preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 2001.
He is survived by two daughters, Alta Thorne of Trenton and Charity Silkwood of Utica; one step-daughter, Brenda Owens of Trenton; one step-son, Bill Brown of Trenton; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; six sisters, Virginia Layman of Carrollton, Vivian Franklin of Kansas City, Ruth Simmons of Douglas, GA, Faye Whetstone of Butte, MT, Iris Nelson of Cheyenne, WY and Sharon Wilford of Independence; and two brothers, Ben Larkins of Bosworth and John Larkins of Chillicothe.
He was preceded in death by is wife; parents; two sons, Jimmy Larkins and John Larkins; one brother, Reginald Hoyt; and five sisters, Nova West, Barbara Hoyt, Gwendolyn Hoyt, Vera Hoyt and Betty Hoyt.
