S.M. Rissler Elementary School was among 167 Missouri public and charter schools recognized for exemplary implementation of Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support, a program that is a proactive approach to teaching end reinforcing behavioral expectations in order to improve student behavior, maximize instructional time and increase student engagement. Rissler staff received the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Silver Award,” which indicated the school has sustained Tier 1 of the program as well as implemented the Tier 2 targeted interventions with fidelity. Schools received either Gold, Silver or Bronze recognition.
