The Trenton high school football and basketball cheerleaders attended a UCA Cheerleading Camp June 16 – 18 at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. The Northwest camp was a stunt and tumble specific camp with 660 athletes and 60 coaches attending from 4 different states. The squad worked on various new stunts and pyramids and are excited to showcase those on the sideline as well as halftime performances this year. While attending camp, the girls earned gold (highest) ribbons for their stunt sequence and pyramid and dance. They also received a Superior squad award (highest) and earned second in their division for stunt incorporation and second in extreme routine dance and stunting. Five THS cheerleaders were chosen for the All-American cheerleader award. Each cheerleader had to try out in front of a panel of judges by performing a cheer, dance and toe touch. Earning this honor were seniors Abbie Shuler and Thelma Guerrero, junior Sarah Jordan and freshmen Emma Curtis and Lexi Gott. Pictured are, from left, front row, Thelma Guerrero, Cassidy Trump, Brandi Eaton, Abbie Shuler; back row, Emma Curtis, Carly Spencer, Grace Eaton, Shawna Coplen, Lexi Gott, Sarah Jordan, Emilee Lovell, Gwyneth Foster, Melanie Guerrero and Emily Owen.
