Mady Williams of Laredo, left, and Dereck Bowman of Bethany attended the Missouri Electric Youth Tour on June 9-15 in Washington D.C. They were sponsored by Grundy Electric Cooperative of Trenton. The two were among 102 high school students from across the state taking part in the trip, which included visits to representatives from the congressional districts as well as touring famous monuments, the Smithsonian Institution museums and Arlington National Cemetery. The group also took a sightseeing and dance cruise on the Potomac River one evening with delegates from other states. There were also speeches by government leaders and motivational speakers. Mady is the daughter of Charles and Melissa Williams. Dereck is the son of Brad and Jenny Bowman.
