Micah Danielle Knapp, a 31-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident, west of Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday June 12, 2017 at Union (Coon Creek) Baptist Church, west of Trenton, with Rev. Doug Crawford, Bro. Ron Ward, Rev. Gary Lanning, Rev. Marc Knapp, and Matt Arthaud officiating.
Burial will be in Coon Creek Cemetery at Trenton.
Family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Trenton.
Micah was born on May 30, 1986 in Trenton, the daughter of Michael Donald and Sherry Yvonne Stoops Knapp. She was home-schooled for seven years, then received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Hannibal-LaGrange University. She had completed 24 hours toward a master’s degree from Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City. She had been employed at First School at Fayetteville, AR and was currently employed as a director of child daycare at Midwestern Seminary of Kansas City. She was a member of the Coon Creek Baptist Church and former youth pastor at Rural Dale Baptist Church.
Survivors include her parents, Mike and Sherry Knapp of the home; a sister, Maerissa Knapp, of Karen, Kenya; maternal grandparents, Larry and Barbara Stoops of Trenton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Donald and Elnora Knapp; and great-grandparents Olen and Mae Wilford, Virgil and Lois Jean Stoops, George and Dorothy Chrisman and Homer and Ethel Knapp.
Memorials are suggested to the Coon Creek Cemetery or a mission scholarship through Midwestern Seminary of Kansas City. They may be left at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton, which is in charge of arrangements.
